Rooftop Christmas: Your Miracle on 34th Street
716 W 34th Street is coming to the 2018 Spring Market. It resides on one of Baltimore’s most famous streets, West 34th Street, lovingly nicknamed “Christmas Street” and “Miracle on 34th Street” for its extravagant holiday light decorations (currently in the midst of its 71st consecutive year). 24/7 Wall St named it one of the “Neighborhoods with the Most Outrageous Christmas Lights” this year. Past years it’s made national headlines on Nightline, The Travel Channel, and Home and Garden, according to the official website. Visitors come from all over the country to experience the awe of this holiday light show.
The tradition used to include cars slowly driving down the street along with pedestrians. Cars would wait in line and slowly go down the street, bringing some excitement and suspense to an otherwise banal traffic jam. Today, the street is closed off to cars and it’s 100% pedestrian, making for a more pleasant and safe viewing experience.
716 W 34th Street is not just a uniquely Baltimore home, capturing that Hampden kitsch charm this time of year, but also a fabulous one. Its features include a chef’s kitchen, gorgeous hardwood floors, a luxury master bathroom, and the ever coveted off-street parking. If Christmas Street is any indicator, parking can be more than challenging in Hampden, and something you’ll never have to worry about. To top it off, the home has a 2 level rooftop deck that affords sweeping views of the city, a feature not commonly found in this neighborhood.
It’s unlike any Hampden home we’ve seen!
