The posh side of the waterfront lives in Harbor East. This neighborhood is a destination by day as Baltimore’s financial center and is a beacon for its glossy nightlife. The architecture is mostly new construction; think gleaming high-rise condos with street level boutiques. The waterside promenade is filled with people jogging, walking dogs, or just relaxing on one of the many benches lining the marina.

There is also a Warby Parker shop, which is here to keep your eyewear of the minute, and also a favorite way to pass an hour trying on all of the frames.
Harbor East is the Financial Center of the city, home to the Carey Business School of Johns Hopkins, Legg Mason, One Main Financial, Morgan Stanley, and Exelon, just to name a few. Naturally, this means the neighborhood hosts luxury hotels and some of the city’s best dining.
Sagamore Pendry is a brand new boutique hotel located few blocks down waterfront. The hotel was developed on the historic Recreation Pier. The construction marries rich materials with contemporary design. It’s a stylish option for an evening drink at their American whiskey bar, The Cannon Room.
If you’re looking for an outstanding dinner and excitement, the Foreman Wolf Restaurant Group has you covered. Transport yourself to Buenos Aires and head to Bar Vasquez for New World Argentinian cuisine and live Latin music. You can sit upstairs for a fine dining experience, or spend the night on the main level that’s designed with a discerning eye, balancing glamour with a rustic sensibility. That includes elements such as Brazilian Tiger wood, cowhide, intricate stenciling, and 15-foot palm trees. Special ingredients are flown in from various South American regions.
Another notable restaurant from Foreman Wolf is Cinghiale, an Italian fine dining dream. The chefs are artists; the food is exquisite; the dining room is airy, yet warm. However, one of the best things about Cinghiale, is the wine. An entire section of the restaurant is dedicated to their Enoteca, a lovely setting to enjoy wine flights and charcuterie. Be sure to engage the sommelier on their haute wine selection, which includes a mature cellar stocked with wines from all over Italy. Just a block away is Foreman Wolf’s third Harbor East restaurant, The Charleston, which is “rooted in French fundamentals and the Low Country cooking of South Carolina.”
For a hip evening with a cascading view of the water, dine at the Atlas Group’s Azumi, a Japanese restaurant that highlights elegant sushi, a refined sake selection, and attentive service. The interior fuses elements of traditional Japanese design with a posh nightclub vibe. The Atlas also produced Ouzo Bay, a Greek seafood kouzina.
The most refined retreat in the city is on the same block, where five star service is the norm. The Spa at the Four Seasons feels other worldly, hovering high in the sky. The atmosphere is serene and private. Massages, body treatments, saunas and steam rooms are luxurious.
Harbor East is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in Baltimore, with direct access to Little Italy, Fells Point, Canton, and the Inner Harbor. It’s a simple walk along the waterfront promenade or through the winding, lively streets.
